Harkness Park Updates

Harkness Park is growing! We are making it through this dry, hot summer thanks to our many volunteers who help water, weed, fix fences, tend to plants, etc. Thank you, thank you!!!What was edible at the park this year…
We had strawberries, blue berries, huckleberries, currants, apples, red-veined doc, kale, sage, rosemary, thyme, oregano, chamomile, and burdock.
What will be edible at the park in the next year or two or three…All of the above and Italian plums, Indian plum, figs, olives, Asian pears, kiwis, rose hips, sour cherries, salmon berries, thimble berries, Saskatoon berries, aronia berry, bee balm, and more.
If you have other edible perennial ideas you would like to see at the park please email kippyirwin@gmail.com.
There are free woodchips at the park for the community to use for your landscape. Please try them out, they work great!See you at the park!Kippy and Deb
