April 2022 Meeting: UW Behavioral Health Teaching Facility

At the HLCC General Meeting on April 7th, 2022 we heard an update about the six story Behavioral Health Teaching Facility the University of Washington is building on their NW campus in Haller Lake.  It was a fantastic, positive presentation of hope coming to many patients and the region.

Our speakers provided an overview and update of the project for the benefit of the community. They described a beautiful, therapeutic space that will help many patients seeking mental health care.  They answered our questions about traffic, parking and anticipated impact to the community.  We learned a new sidewalk will be built along the North side of the campus on N 120th St (yea for sidewalks!).

The following panelists participated:

  • Dr. Ryan Kimmel, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, UW School of Medicine
  • Pam Renna, Hospital-Associate Administrator, UW Medical Center
  • Julie Blakeslee, UW Campus Architecture and Planning
  • Aimee Duquette, SRG Partnership Architect Project Manager
  • Matt Dunaway, Clark|Abbott Construction Project Manager
  • Jeannie Natta
