James Baldwin School Garden

After years of so-so garden crops at Northgate school, we finally hit the mother lode with our same six “early season crops.  In the new James Baldwin dedicated space with our six raised beds, everything came up - radish, lettuce, spinach, carrots, beets and peas.  The third graders not only had a salad party but two or three.  The best part?  Students ate anything near their plate with choices of dressing.  As I knew from my prior teaching days, if you have stock in something you’re more willing to follow through.  Very true in our garden.
