Family of Barbara Gross Donates Garden Items to Haller Lake P-Patch

The family of Barbara Gross (June 28, 1931 – February 17, 2022) has donated some of Barb’s garden-related items to Haller Lake P-Patch (HLPP). Barb was one of the members of Haller Lake Community Club who actively supported the creation of Haller Lake P-Patch, including the Club’s endorsement of the City of Seattle grant (neighborhood matching fund) to build HLPP in 1998. Barbara contributed volunteer matching hours during HLPP’s construction even though she never gardened there (she had plenty of gardening to do at her own home!). Barb often visited the P-Patch and usually came to our “Open Garden” celebrations that we held annually from 2004 through 2017. Barb loved gardening, and, in addition to some garden tools and containers, her family gave the P-Patch a wonderful plaque she displayed at meetings of the HLCC Garden Club in which she had been very active. We will hang the plaque inside the P-Patch shed to protect it from the elements. If you are not a member of HLPP and would like to view the plaque, we would be happy to show it to you. We express our thanks to Barb’s children – Deb Gross, Sandy Gross, Happie Lodge and David Gross – for gifting us these additions to Haller Lake P-Patch.
