Prizes:

1st  Place - Gift Card for Lil’ Tiger Ice Cream

            2nd Place - Gift Card Lil’ Tiger Ice Cream


Categories
Any dessert pie, from blueberry and Rhubarb to Pecan and Buckeye, from single crust to double crust, all are welcome!

Homemade Pie Contest Rules

  1. a)  This contest is open to bakers of all ages!

  2. b)  Pies must be entered in the name of the person who made it.

  3. c)  Contestant may enter one pie.

  4. d)  Each Pie must be made from scratch and based in a 9” – 10” pie plate/pan. 

Enter a Pie

  1. a)  Bring your Pie to the contest site, Haller Lake Community Club between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm on August 27, 2022. At this time your pie will be given an entry number, maintaining confidentiality of the bakers.
    You do not need to be present to win.

  2. b)  By entering this Contest, you agree to and Acknowledge:

    1. The entered pies become the property of the Haller Lake Community Club and that you do not get your pie back.

    2. If you win, you give your permission to have your photo taken during the announcement ceremony (or later) and have it used by the Haller Lake Community Club.

  3. c)  A list of ingredients must be provided, on a 3x5 card or 8x11 paper,  contestant name and phone number, at time of drop off. This information will be kept confidential.

Judging

  1. a)  Judging will start at 4:30 pm. Winners will be announced at 5 PM.
    *Judges will not be present at the contest table while pies are delivered to ensure confidentiality of the bakers.

  2. b)  Judging area will be "off limits" to all but Judges and Pie Contest Committee members.

  3. c)  Minimum of three Judges

  4. d)  Criteria Each pie will be judged on the following, out of 100 possible points:

    1. Overall Appearance points 1-20

    2. Crust Color, Texture, Flavor points 1-20

    3. Filling Consistency, Moistness, Flavor points 1-20

    4. Flavor points 1-20

    5. Creativity points 1-20

  5. e)  Scoring

    1. Each judge assigns a numerical value in each criteria category, without consultation with the other judges.

    2. The pie receiving the highest total numerical value is the winner. The Pie Contest Committee will tally the judging sheets.

    3. In the case of a tie, the judges will judges those pies again.

    4. The decision of the judges is final.
