Welcome new HLCC Liaisons!

Linda Sinni and Jay Herzmark saw our call in Splashes about open Liaison positions and have volunteered to take on a liaison role. Linda will be the Northgate Elementary School Liaison and Jay the Emergency Hub Liaison. In their roles they will keep HLCC up to date on happenings in both areas.

Linda is a resident of the east Haller Lake neighborhood and her kids attend Northgate Elementary School. She is a teacher at Northgate, as well as the current PTO President. She loves our neighborhood because it is quiet and we live close to North Acres Park. She says "It’s fun to work at my neighborhood school and see students around on weekends! I love being so closely connected to the place that I live."

Jay has lived in the neighborhood for seven years and is the president of the Victorian Condos Home Owner's Association.  He has been involved in emergency preparedness and response for about 30 years including a stint on the Washington FEMA disaster medical assistance team during which they set up and staffed a hospital at the New Orleans Airport right after Hurricane Katrina. While attending graduate school at some university in New York City, Jay worked as an RN in an emergency room where he claims to have saved Cher’s life. Among the 29 jobs he has held since graduating college was one where he worked for 22 years at a large, increasingly expensive, state university in Seattle where he was a company safety guy. He has been an active member of at least six unions and has ridden his bike over 40 thousand miles just to go to work. He recently performed on stilts in front of a cheering audience (WOW!).

Welcome, Linda and Jay!  We are excited to have your expertise and input to HLCC.
