Donations Pour In at HLCC Holiday Lights DriveThru Event
On December 12th, 2020 the Haller Lake Community Club (HLCC) hosted a Drive Thru Holiday Lights Event that collected over $1,300 in gift cards for Northgate Elementary School families in need to make their holidays bright. Generous Haller Lake residents also donated over 345 non-perishable food items that were delivered to the North Helpline Food Bank.
Due to COVID, this event replaced the annual HLCC Holiday Potluck. For the event, the exterior of the HLCC building was dressed up with beautiful lights and blow-ups including a HUGE snowman! A masked Santa greeted children in their cars and collected letters. HLCC volunteers donned personal protective equipment and provided candy canes to over 45 cars that drove through to donate items and see the lights and Santa. We had some neighborhood walk-ups as well, including a dog dressed as Santa!
The lights will remain on the building at least through the end of December. If you have not seen them, check them out on your walk or night drive. They really do light up the corner of 128th and Densmore.
A HUGE thank you to all the generous Haller Lake neighbors who donated to support families at Northgate Elementary School and the North Helpline Food Bank. It truly was a great showing of support from our Community for those in need. Also three cheers for Santa who made it all the way from the North Pole to spread some holiday cheer.
Happy Holidays to all!
