2020 HLCC Trick-Or-Treat Event and Food Drive

On October 31st, 2020 HLCC hosted a Drive Thru/Walk Up Trick-or-Treat event in the parking lot of HLCC.  Due to COVID, this creative event replaced the annual HLCC Harvest Party.

HLCC volunteers donned personal protective equipment and distanced from one another to host the event. Over 60+ cars drove thru and 60+ candy baggies were given to walk-ups! In total, over 200 candy baggies were given away. Some cars drove through just to donate non-perishable food, others came back after trick-or-treating to donate. The food donations were given to the North Helpline Food Bank.  At one point the cars were lined up to the edge of the street!  Participants were so excited to attend this event.

A huge thank you to Robynn Lowery and Sheryl Grater, HLCC board members, who organized this event.  Also thank you to board member Celia and HLCC members Jen, Charlie, Trevor, Liz and her husband for volunteering to make the event possible.  By all accounts, this creative and COVID friendly event was a success and provided some halloween cheer!
