Remembering Kendra Kelly Nov 30,1972 – August 27, 2019
Haller Lake neighbor and friend, Kendra Kelly, organized our annual Holiday HLCC Haller Lake Craft Fair benefitting Mary’s Place for the last few years. She was a crafter herself and loved gathering people to support our neighbors at Mary’s Place. She continued to do this in spite of the fact that she was battling a serious illness.
Her joy and love of serving others remained strong and was visible to all who knew her. She was so easy and fun to work with from the get-go. I instantly felt like I had known her for a long time. The fact that she and her husband were big Husky football fans helped too! She taught me how to not sweat the small stuff but rather concentrate on the important mission at hand.
I was thinking, for example, that we needed to carefully measure each crafter’s space precisely and she wisely said if we assign them a general area, they will work out the details themselves, which they did! She was definitely an example of how to live life with purpose and joy savoring each moment as the gift it is.
Her love for her family and serving others was clearly demonstrated every time I saw her. Her memory will long live on here at Haller Lake at the Craft Fair and beyond! She is survived by her beloved husband, Brian, and young son, Alex, who attends Northgate Elementary School.
When I heard Alex was going to Northgate, I knew the school would be better for their presence there. Both parents were involved with helping out at Northgate. They all loved the school and felt Alex was supported well by a loving community there.
